SYSTEM ANALYST - Unix C, Visual Basic, Scripting,SQL, Oracle
(Singapore)
Responsibilities:
* Provide applications production support to billing system and related supporting applications
* Ensure that current functionality is able to meet the changing business needs of the organization
* Conduct investigation, troubleshooting, and analytical work to resolve users’ queries
* Attend to IS service requests
* Handle program/configuration deployment
* Knowledge transfer and sharing with team members and colleagues
* Proactively propose solutions to further improve the system through CIP (Continuous Improvement Program)
* Work with system engineers and database administrators to ensure a high availability of the critical system
* Provide progress updates and issues escalation to supervisor
Requirements:
* Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology (IT) or related discipline from a recognized university
* At least 3 years relevant working experience in IT applications support and development role
* Possess applications production support experience in one or more of the following and preferably in the Infocommunications domain - Billing Application, Dunning Application and Payment Application
* Must be familiar with Object-Oriented Design & Development Methodology and Programming Languages. Knowledge of Infocommunications Customer Care System would be an added advantage
* Possess programming experience in:
* OS-HP Unix, Windows XP/2000/NT/9x/3.xx
* Languages-Unix C, Visual Basic, Power Builder, HTML, ASP/JSP Programming
* Scripting-Shell Scripting, Perl ScriptingVB Scripting, Java Scripting
* Database-SQL, Oracle, Sybase
* Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and have undergone a few complete lifecycles of projects involving vendors, in-house IT teams and business users
* Good understanding of concepts in Customer Care and Billing systems
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Customer-oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Able to adapt to changes fast and work under pressure
* in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent.
These are full time roles with Comtel in Singapore.
