Market Research Analyst, ESAW

IDC Asia/Pacific seeks a resourceful, self-motivated, results oriented individual with a background in market research or within IT industry experience for a role in our Enterprise Servers & Workstations Group. Based in Singapore, the appointed will need to develop into an authority on the regional server and workstation market across multiple countries in the ASEAN region.
Reporting to the Director for Enterprise Servers & Workstations Group, the primary responsibilities of this position include:
* Tracking, analyzing and forecasting the market on a quarterly basis. Analyze the competitive landscape and forecast the market
* Develop a good understanding of emerging products and technologies and their impact on the market
* Write succinct and concise quarterly updates/ bulletins and reports
* Handle client and media queries
Requirements:
Interested individuals that meet the following minimum requirements are encouraged to apply:
* Individuals with a minimum 2 years job experience in a market research firm, a market intelligence division of an IT company, or a regional survey organization focused on IT or ICT industries. In addition, post-graduates with exceptional curricula in the area of marketing and market research disciplines are also strongly encourage to apply for this position.
* Minimum university or college degree, BA, BSc or equivalent - Economics, IT, or Statistics degrees preferred
* Comfort with market metrics and an understanding of economic measures and concepts
* Written and verbal fluency in English are essential and requisite - additional languages, considered a plus but not required
* MS Excel and PowerPoint intermediate level experience required, familiarity with Access, or similar database a plus, statistical programs knowledge such as SPSS will be advantageous
The IDC Asia/Pacific Enterprise Servers & Workstations team has more than 10 regional and country analysts covering this large, highly dynamic and rapidly evolving market. The group's research services are subscribed to, and relied upon, by the top IT vendors in the industry today.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, able to work both independently, consistently maintaining & meeting deadlines. In addition, the candidate should be able to communicate information internally to the team throughout the region and to clients. Primary focus will be on having a sense of ownership, strong organizational and project management skills, are essential to success in this role. Title will be commensurate with experience.
